REQUIRED: READ THROUGH THE ENTIRETY OF THE INFORMATION POSTED BELOW.
The rules are the same, the challenges new...
1) WRITING GUIDELINES:
- Each week you will be presented with a prompt/catalyst of sorts.
-Your piece does not need to contain the prompt itself but instead be the product of its motivation.
-As there was last year, there is a word limit. 425 Words. For reference, this is one page, single spaced, Microsoft Word document.
-The goal is to give few words...great emphasis. Of course We value short fiction so we have two short story weeks that allow 1200 words.
-Only content specifically written for the contest is allowed. No existing work allowed.
-The deadline for submissions is each Saturday by noon.
-If you don't make the deadline and still want to write a piece, please do! However, it will not be in the running for Writer of the Week
2) WHERE THE PROMPT IS DISPLAYED:
-The prompt will be displayed every Suday as a thread named for the week in the forum called Prompts and finished Pieces. Example:
Week # 1 Prompt – Playground Legends
-It will be posted every Sunday before midnight.
-Your final draft is due the following Saturday by Noon.
-If it is posted past noon, take the personal pride that you finished. I know some weeks it may not on time, we're all human and have lives-it's totally understandable. However, it will not be in the running for writer of the week. It is each contestants responsibility to lend accountability. Check the time of the submission before you vote for it, or your vote could go to waste.
-No matter when a piece is submitted, please do give constructive feedback to it.
-Please read the prompt carefully. Then let your imagination work before...
3) POSTING YOUR FINISHED PIECE:
-Your finished piece should be posted as a new thread in the Prompts and Finished Pieces board in the sub-board for that week.
-Please read the thread titled READ BEFORE POSTING ENTRIES/FEEDBACK for more details on how to post your work as well as...
4) FEEDBACK/CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM:
-Feedback is essential. Please read the the thread titled READ BEFORE POSTING ENTRIES/FEEDBACK
5) VOTING FOR WRITER OF THE WEEK:
-IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED MEMBER OF THE GROUP YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE.
-Voting this year will be presented as a poll in the Polling Station Forum.
6) WRITER OF THE WEEK:
