Mine started out differently. Then, it developed into what it was. Like much of what I write, it's partly from experience and part imagination.

One more comment - I just read the comments. The prose-ish section in the middle was referring to the Rorschach test itself and how it made her feel. The stranger's hand pressing part was actually referring to the hand of the person pressing the paper together, again explaining how the test pressed her and made her uncomfortable. I love that it can mean more than one thing, though!

Well, many of the admins will remember, I used to only write rhyming poetry. I'm mostly self taught and until junior year in high-school I didn't know people had stopped doing that. Having that familiarity with it, makes it easier to include it subversively.
For this poem I happened to notice an image on the left side of the test that reminded me of a witch. From there, some automatic writing and then stopped where it made sense. I thought for a split second about taking out the first rhyme then just went with it and that opened the way for the rhyme in the last stanza. Nyx is the greek goddess of night. Morphea is a made up female derivative. And yeah, you could call it a love poem.
Thanks!
